FishAdvisoryCheck

About our data

FishAdvisoryCheck is an independent summary service, not a government agency or a medical provider. Our initial release is limited to selected named New York Adirondack lakes and specific source-reviewed species.

Source review

Each public record binds its identity, geography and advisory fields to preserved, SHA-256-hashed official source snapshots. DOH advisory rows are cross-checked against separate DEC geography pages. The original bulk imports are research backlog, not public evidence.

Freshness and limits

This release was manually reviewed. There is no live monitoring guarantee. Reviews expire and are checked on each request; expired records leave search and the sitemap. Pages show the source revision separately from our review date. A source revision month is not an invented effective date.

No default safety answer

Unknown species, unknown population, unconfirmed identity, missing required length and unclear length boundaries do not produce a consumption allowance. Other fish meals, child portions and individual exposure are not calculated. Tributaries and connected waters are outside our admitted geography scope.
